In practice it behaves like Arch with a different heartbeat: pacman, the AUR (with occasional systemd-dependency caveats), and current packages, but services managed by lightweight, auditable init scripts. The project ships both minimal and full desktop ISOs, and its documentation covers the init-specific differences well. It is a niche by definition, but within that niche it is the standard-bearer.
