COSMIC is System76\'s desktop environment, written from scratch in Rust with the iced toolkit, and it feels like a desktop designed by people who use keyboards for a living. Auto-tiling is a first-class toggle rather than an extension, the launcher drives everything, and workspaces flow vertically with a logic tiling users grasp immediately. It is Wayland-native from birth; there is no X11 legacy under the floorboards.

Born as Pop!_OS\'s next-generation desktop, COSMIC also runs on Fedora, Arch, and elsewhere. Rust gives it speed and memory safety; the clean-slate design gives it coherence no ported desktop can match.
